How to upload combat logs and parses
Online Parse
What is it?
An online parse is like an extremely thorough version of recount. It takes your combat log and breaks it down into boss fights and can display everything that happened in a particular fight. It's extremely useful to learn to play your class better and for us to evaluate someone's ability without having the opportunity to actually raid with them.
Why is it required?
Recount, and similar in-game damage metres, just spit out a number which means nothing without further information. From an online parse we can tell that you didn't die to fires, attacked the correct targets, didn't idle too much, etc. We stress it for transfer applicants especially because it gives us a good idea of how you play without ever raiding with you.
How do I do it?
**Please note that if you already have parses from WorldMetreOnline or Wow Web Stats, you may link those instead.
You can visit the World of Logs help page for a walkthrough on how to post a parse. You will need an account and a guild (make up a fake one, if needed) before you can upload your parse.
